Overview

Amplify offers quick and easy options to help you share your videos with your audience. When your organization creates templates, they can also define which sharing options are available to you. If your organization has enabled video downloads, you'll see that option in the list of available sharing methods.

Downloading your video as an MP4 file is a convenient way to share it as a standalone file. You can send the file directly to recipients, who may then upload it to other platforms, embed it in presentations or documents, or share it further as needed. Closed captions can also be exported along with the video, helping ensure accessibility for all audiences.

After the initial download, you can always re-download the video sent to the recipient from the Video Activity page.

Unlike sharing via a video link or email, this sharing method does not support tracking viewer engagement on the Video Activity page.

Note:
Before sharing a video via MP4 download, make sure you've completed all steps (1-5) in Creating a Video with Amplify.

Downloading the MP4 File

1. In the sharing step, make sure that Download is selected on the left side of the screen.

Understanding the Download Contents

Here are the key details about the files included in the MP4 download:

1. When the video is downloaded, the file is automatically named using the following format:
[Template Name]_[Recipient Name].mp4
For example: If the template is titled Job Recruitment Template and the recipient is Michael Forest, the downloaded file will be named: Job Recruitment Template_Michael Forest
2. If the video includes closed captions, the video is downloaded to a zipped folder containing two files (see example below). The MP4 file contains the video and the WebVTT file contains the captions. When you extract the folder, make sure to keep both files in the same location to ensure the captions work properly.

3. When sending a video with captions to a recipient, let them know that the captions file should remain in the same folder as the video. This ensures that the captions are available during playback.
