Overview
Creating a video with Amplify is a quick and easy process that requires no video production skills. In just a few minutes, you can generate a personalized, on-brand video by selecting a template and completing a short form.
Each template includes an Input Form designed for its specific purpose. These forms contain various fields that let you personalize the content for each video. This content can include on-screen text, narration, images, brand selection, and more. Since every template is unique, the form fields differ accordingly.
As you work, a real-time preview lets you see how your video will look, so you can make sure everything looks just right before moving on to the next steps. Amplify handles the design and formatting behind the scenes, allowing you to create polished, professional videos with minimal effort.
Whether you're creating one video or many, the process is quick, straightforward, and easy to repeat for different purposes.
The steps below guide you through creating a video with Amplify, from selecting a template to choosing a sharing method.

Step 1: Select a Template
The first step in creating a video is selecting a template to start from that fits your purpose. All the templates available in Amplify have been created by your organization to support specific goals or communications.
Before selecting a template, it's helpful to understand the information displayed on each template thumbnail. This will help you make the best choice for your video. Each template thumbnail displays the following key information:
| 1. Template title | |
| 2. Template description explaining what the template is intended to be used for | |
| 3. The template's intended purpose | |
| 4. The number of times you used this template to create videos | |
| 5. The number of times that videos you created with this template were viewed |
You can select a template in one of the following ways:
- From the Create Video dialog

- From the Home Page
Use the tabs below to learn how each option works.

The video creation window opens, displaying the template's input form for personalization on the left and a video preview on the right, as shown below.
Step 2: Complete the Input Form
With the video creation window now open, you're ready to personalize the template by filling out the input form.
Each template is paired with a form that allows you to create a personalized video for every recipient you communicate with. To generate a video, you'll fill out the form with inputs that customize the narration and visuals, determine which scenes appear or are skipped, and even control which brand is used in the video.
The input form appears on the left side of the window, with the video preview on the right. As you customize the content, your changes are immediately reflected in the preview.
Here are the key points to know about working with the input form:
| a. | Each template has a unique input form designed for its specific purpose, so the fields and options you see depend on your template selection. The examples below show how input forms differ across various templates. |

| b. | Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*), and you won’t be able to proceed until all required fields are completed. All other fields are optional. |
| c. | As you complete each field, the video preview automatically updates to reflect your changes, allowing you to see exactly how your personalized video will look. See Step 3: Preview Your Work to learn more. |
| d. | If you're creating a video by duplicating a recent video from the Home Page, the input form will be pre-populated with details from the original video. You can, of course, modify any field according to your preferences. |
| e. | You can fill out the fields in any order that works best for you. |
At the end of Step 2:
You have completed all the required fields in the input form.
Step 3: Preview Your Work
After you complete the input form, it is important to preview your video before sharing it with your recipient to ensure it looks exactly as you expect. After you have finished previewing, click Next in the bottom right of the screen to proceed to the next step.
Here are the key points to know about previewing a video:
| a. | Use the scene thumbnails at the bottom to jump to different parts of your video and preview how your changes look in each scene. |
| b. | While the video updates in real time as you make changes, you need to select the relevant scene in the line-up below the preview to see how your changes appear in that specific part of the video. |
| c. | Click the play button to watch the video from start to finish. Playback begins from the scene currently selected in the line-up. |
| d. | If not all the narration text is visible in the preview, hover over it to see the complete text. |
At the end of Step 3:
After previewing the video and confirming that it looks exactly as expected, you clicked Next in the bottom right corner of the window.
Step 4: Enter Recipient Details
After completing the input form, you'll need to provide recipient details to enable video activity tracking. Recipient details are used in the Video Activity page (as shown in the example below) and help you monitor engagement by identifying who the video was shared with and how they interacted with it.
Here are the key points to know about entering recipient details:
| a. | Only the Recipient name is a mandatory field. This is the name of the person with whom you are sharing the video. The other fields are optional, but completing them provides more comprehensive tracking data. |
| b. | If you've previously entered a recipient name, account, company, organization, or location, it will appear as a suggestion when you start typing. |
| c. | When you have finished filling out the form, click Next in the bottom right of the window to proceed to the next step. |
At the end of Step 4:
You have entered the recipient details and clicked Next in the bottom right of the window.
Step 5: Select Sharing Method
After entering the recipient details, you need to select a sharing method for your video. While Amplify offers a selection of convenient sharing methods, your organization determines the available options for each template based on the most effective way to share the video.
Note:
In this step, you are only selecting a sharing method. The actual sharing happens externally to Amplify after completing this step.
Here are the key points to know about selecting a sharing method:
| a. | Select a sharing method from the options on the left side of the screen. A preview of how the recipient will see the video appears on the right side. |
| b. | If needed, you can click Back to Input Form to return and modify the video content. |
| c. | To change recipient details, click the recipient's name at the top of the screen. |
